Hello and welcome to the flux archives!
Anflux and Demfluxes are a closed species created by me (Prince/Nekojiima) back in 2013. They are often sold via auction or through my patreon.Feel free to browse around and learn more about these dream driven creatures and their stories! If you own a flux of your own and have a story that doesn't follow the lore, don't worry that's totes cool too! I just enjoy story telling and found this to be fun, so it's more a "canon" to my universe.This site will probably be edited over time as I think of more~

Spiritual creatures born from the dreams of others and tied to the concept of passage. Often the case but not always, spawned after the life source that held those dreams was nearing its end or had ended.Demflux are born from forgotten and abandoned dreams with no will left to be achieved.Anflux are born from unfulfilled dreams that are no longer achievable.They are born with an instinctive purpose, to prevent the creation of malicious spirits by helping fulfill the dreams of those who will soon pass and guide their soul into the afterlife regretless. While there is no other force to tell them who they must help, they have a sense of who they are “assigned” to.Demflux were said to use methods that might not always play fair, sometimes using bribery or feelings of greed. Anflux on the other hand may focus on needs and kindness. Of course though, they don’t always play into these roles. The method in which this is done isn’t always truthful, If a life is nearing its end too soon to be physically helped and nothing more can be done, even falsifying a fulfilled dream via illusion can help a soul pass on peacefully. In the case of someone being to a point of immobilization, say, in a coma, this is sometimes all that can be done for them. It’s not something most would be too proud of doing, and more likely to be done by a demflux. Despite all this, neither is necessarily bad or good.In modern day, many are known to do as they want. Oftentimes not following their designated purpose!Fluxes are able to automatically speak and understand any language spoken to them. It is a form of illusion in a way. While their "true" voices are inaudible to the common natural ear they can be described as nothing but uncanny valley. Similar to the sound of someone speaking to you while half asleep or distant whispers mixed with chimes, leaving one who's happened upon it to wonder if the sound was all in their heads. Some may describe it as creepy, others may find it soothing.Anfluxes and Demfluxes have the ability to "see" how much life a mortal has remaining, however, the perception of this can vary from flux to flux. Some are able to vaguely sense the amount of days/months/years and others can see down to the last second left of their lives. Through a fluxes eyes, a person's death has been set the moment they are born into the world. They are unable to tell in what way one will die though.While not exactly doll-like or emotionless, they may come off as subhuman when freshly born. In some cases, if a certain desire they were born from held a heavy emotion attached to it, it may follow them from birth. In any other case though, they only start gaining human-like emotions and feelings after being around them for so long; they can be tainted with any emotion, happiness, love, anger, fear, sadness, hatred. This is why some choose to dissociate themselves from the living beyond what’s needed as “human” emotions can be seen as a danger.It is unknown if a flux can truly die or what may come after the fact, since they never held a living soul to begin with. If they overexert and abuse their powers to an extreme extent they will burnout, when this happens to some and depending how great of a burnout it can almost seem as if they cease to exist, however, they reappear after some time. Some fluxes have been known to reappear after hundreds of years, even thousands, that's why no one knows if a flux has ever died or if they are just recuperating.A fluxes spiritual powers are pretty flexible in what they can accomplish, oftentimes they are linked with the dreams they are born from. All of them have illusionary magic to some extent. They can use it to hide their presence completely but most often it’s used to hide or change certain aspects of themselves to blend in with the living. Those they are looming over that are close to death may be able to see past these illusions.Their magic is more than often balanced so it would be extremely uncommon to run into an over-powered flux, though those who choose to focus on one specific type (i.e. exclusively fire though doesn't necessarily need to be elemental) would be stronger than one who decides to focus on multiple.
Fluxes with an abnormal amount of horns and wings are more in tune with their powers therefore stronger by nature. In most cases though, they only have one set of both.Though a fluxes wings helps with drawing power and balance in flight, flapping them isn’t necessary as what they do is more in tune with levitation. Some are still seen to flap them playfully.While it is unknown to them if there is a higher being in life, Some fluxes have been known to self-appoint themselves into a higher “stance”. For example, a much older flux who has their ways set to doing things strictly to their original purpose may try to influence or force their views onto ignorant younger fluxes who feel they have no other choice in the matter. Some are seen to even attempt to stop those who follow their own paths. Oddly enough, these fluxes are usually found to have a sort of cult-following.There are myths of actual god-like fluxes that have existed or exist, both among the flux realm and mortal realm. But apart from what’s written in old tattered stories, they are exactly that, a myth within a myth.
